How Does Laser Therapy Reduce Muscle Pain?

Laser therapy is a state-of-the-art non-invasive procedure that penetrates deep tissue structures and accelerates the healing process.  The FDA approved treatment has been successfully used around the world for over 25 years, with no reported side effects.

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy manages pain, inflammation, and increases circulation through non-thermal photons of light. Light is transmitted through the skin’s layers which then elevates the immune response of blood. Science has proven that light transmitted to the blood helps supply oxygen and energy to every cell.  Laser Therapy is safe, comfortable, and highly effective in pain relief and tissue repair. At Peak Medical, we offer two types of laser therapy, including cold and deep tissue.

  • Cold Laser Therapy

This procedure of healing energy is consisted of a handheld device that places a laser over the injured area for 30 seconds or more. Cold lasers offer several benefits with little to no side effects. They have been proven to increase cell growth and metabolic activity, heal wounds, reduce inflammation, and stimulate nerve function. There are several classes of cold lasers depending on the power level.

  • Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

Laser therapy, or Class IV laser, reaches deep into the tissues and is administered for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the location of the injury. This is ideal for treating arthritis, headaches, sports injuries, slipped discs, and plantar fasciitis. Laser provides a strengthening effect on tissue and bone repair and improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage. This therapy works well in conjunction with hand-on therapy and exercise.
